Star casino roulette dealer and alleged accomplice charged with rigging
A casino worker and an alleged accomplice have been accused of rigging roulette bets and making thousands of dollars.
A casino dealer at The Star in Sydney has been charged with rigging roulette alongside an alleged accomplice.
Police will allege the pair made $25,000.
The charges relate to incidents in September and October 2023.
The two men in their 20s will face court in November.
The NSW organised crime casino and racing unit began investigating in October 2023, police say in a statement released on Friday.
The inquiry identified a 23-year-old casino employee and a 22-year-old alleged accomplice.
In court, police will allege the pair would move bets after the roulette ball had landed on a number. They allegedly did so multiple times, making $25,000.
Star Entertainment Group declined to comment, as the matter was before the courts.
The two men have been charged with facilitating conduct that corrupts a betting outcome of an event and obtain or attempt to obtain benefit in a casino by dishonest means.
They were both issued future court attendance notices to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on November 1.
