A man has been found dead in the yard of a luxury mansion in a beachside town after police responded to a welfare check request.
A man has been found dead in the yard of a million-dollar mansion in a beachside Queensland town.
The 56-year-old was found unresponsive after police and emergency services were called to the Ian Wood Drive home just after 3pm on Thursday.
The officers were responding to a welfare check request and found the man in the yard of the Dolphin Heads property.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Dolphin Heads is a small northern suburb in Mackay, about 400km south of Townsville.
The four-bedrooom luxury mansion is located directly in front of the beach, with a swimming pool and secluded by trees.
The lush and beachfront street is home to several multimillion-dollar mansions overlooking the ocean.
The 2883sq m property was sold for $1.15m in March 2021. It has since increased in value by upwards of 36 per cent, according to PopTrack.
A crime scene has been declared and anyone with information has been encouraged to contact the police.
