An Adelaide Hills man has faced court over the alleged attack of a young woman on a popular suburban walking trail.
Scott Lucas Pedley, 51, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court charged with one count of assault on Friday.
It is alleged he targeted a woman named Jessica, 26, as she walked the Yellowtail Loop at Anstey Hill Recreation Park in Adelaide’s north in July.
The young nurse, who did not want her last name to be used, said she ran for at least 10 minutes after the incident, before she encountered a couple and was escorted to the carpark.
She said she suffered a deep gash to her right leg in the scuffle, and was taken to Modbury Hospital where she received several stitches.
In a brief appearance before the court, a lawyer for Pedley asked for an adjournment.
Magistrate Michelle Sutcliffe continued his bail and ordered that he reappear before the court in November.
Pedley, of Cudlee Creek, shielded his face with a bag and made no comment to reporters outside court.
