SA records no new COVID-19 cases five days in a row

For the fifth consecutive day, South Australia has recorded no new COVID-19 infections.

It has been five days since South Australia recorded any new cases of COVID-19.

The state’s total number of infections stood at 562 on Thursday with nine considered active.

Thirty-three cases are linked to the Parafield cluster.

The number of close or casual contacts required to self-isolate for 14 days has dropped dramatically from almost 5000 to 272.

There have been 743,840 COVID-19 tests carried out since the start of the pandemic, with 4541 conducted on Wednesday.

SA Health reminds the public to get tested immediately if they develop any symptoms.

These symptoms include:

• Fever or chills (in the absence of an alternative illness that explains these symptoms)

• An acute respiratory infection, such as a cough, sore throat, runny nose or shortness of breath

• Loss of smell or alteration in the sense of taste.
