A man is in hospital fighting for his life after a horror ride-on mower incident.

Queensland Ambulance Services were called following reports a man riding a mower was significantly injured at a property in Currumbin Valley on the Gold Coast shortly before 2.30pm on Friday

It’s understood the man, believed to be in his 80s, suffered significant head and chest injuries after plummeting about 4m over an embankment on a property, according to the Courier Mail.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed the man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
