Three men have been charged after police foiled an alleged kidnapping conspiracy.

A police investigation is continuing after a 36-year-old man was refused bail on Wednesday over the alleged kidnapping plot.

The man, a 30-year-old man and a 34-year-old-man were arrested on February 27 by officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command.

Officers allegedly noticed the three balaclava-wearing men run from a car in North Parramatta.

The youngest offender was arrested at the scene and charged with breach of bail at Parramatta Police Station.

The 34-year-old was detained nearby. He was charged with hinder discovery evidence re serious indictable offence.

A subsequent search of the car allegedly found mobile phones, duct tape, flexi cuffs and a baseball bat.

Both men appeared in Parramatta Local Court the following day and were refused bail.

A strike force is investigating.

Police allege the target of the kidnapping was a 36-year-old Carlingford man, with the plan to take him from a location in Mays Hill.

Suspected kidnapping equipment, including disposable gloves, duct tape, cable ties and packaging for a GPS tracker were located at the Mays Hill address on March 11 when officers executed a search warrant in the early hours of the morning.

On March 18 a search warrant was executed at a Bankstown unit about 6.14am.

A third man, aged 36, allegedly resisted arrest at the unit and attempted to dispose of two firearms over the balcony.

Police seized gloves and a mask at the location.

He sustained injuries during his arrest and was taken to hospital for examination, before being charged with 19 offences at Bankstown Police Station.

The offences included conspiracy to commit a kidnap in company, install/use tracking device to find a person without consent, and acquiring a firearm and ammunition subject to prohibition order.

State Crime Command’s Strike Force Drever continues to investigate the matter.
