New footage of the moment a fumbling gunman kills a father and son has been released in the hope the public can help.

Police are have released CCTV footage of a fumbling gunman as investigations continue into the deaths of a father and son in Sydney.

Toufik Hamze, 64, and his son, Salim, 18, were both shot while sitting in their car outside their Guilford home just before 9am on October 20, 2021.

Salim died at the scene from his injuries.

Toufik was taken to Westmead Hospital but later died from his wounds.

Four men – aged 20, 25, 18 and 23 – have already been charged over their alleged roles in the deaths and remain before the courts.

Detectives have now released CCTV of the incident as part of an appeal for public assistance.

The CCTV shows a silver Lexus SUV stopped on Osgood St, where the shooting occurred, before a man – dressed in all black and wearing a balaclava – exits the vehicle and runs toward a stationary red utility, where the Hamzes were sitting.

The man falls over before getting up and shooting into the parked red vehicle.

The footage shows the man returning to the SUV as the driver begins to drive off. The car comes to a stop and more shots are fired from the vehicle into the ute.

State Crime Command homicide squad commander Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty urged anyone with information about the man seen in the footage to contact police.

“While we’ve made a number of significant arrests in this matter, detectives are still looking for the men who pulled the trigger,” he said.

“The men who evidently have zero regard for human life; carrying out such a brazen attack in broad daylight, just metres away from a mother and child.

“We are releasing this vision today to make sure those men know they can no longer run away or hide from their actions and the law.

“We are appealing today to anyone who may recognise these men and we’re also interested in talking to any witnesses whose memory may be jogged by this CCTV – particularly those seen driving past who may not have been aware at the time what they were witnessing.”

The father and son were believed to be the victims of a gangland war between two notorious Sydney families.

For years, the infamous Hamzy family has been involved in a bloody feud with the Alameddine family.

The Hamze family are distantly related to the Hamzy family.
