Creepy CCTV shows Casula home invasion

Shock new CCTV footage has been released showing a terrifying armed home invasion at 4am.

The footage, released by the NSW Police, shows three men in hoodies break into a home at Casula in western Sydney on October 8, 2024.

Liverpool City Police Area Command were told five men drove to the home in a grey Nissan utility, which had been reported stolen, and forced entry to the home while armed with pistols and a shotgun.

“Residents in the home at the time were threatened at gun point and two people were restrained with cable ties,” the police said on Saturday.

“The five men then fled the scene, taking cash and jewellery.

“A short time later, two men approached a motorcyclist nearby and threatened him with a firearm, before fleeing the scene on the motorcycle.

“Police then located the utility travelling through Casula.

“The driver failed to stop when directed and a pursuit was initiated. However, it was terminated shortly after due to safety concerns.”

Two of the residents at the home suffered minor injuries in the attack.

The police established a crime scene and detectives attached to State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad launched Strike Force Albal to investigate the incident.

Following further inquiries, strike force detectives located the Nissan utility in Austral, the police said.

The vehicle and jewellery located in the vehicle were seized for forensic examination.

Detectives have released the footage in a public appeal for information.

The men are described as being of Pacific Islander or Maori appearance and were seen wearing hoodies at the time of the break-in.

Detectives are urging anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam vision of the incident to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
