NSW Police confirm death of baby at Whalan, Sydney after major response

A baby has died after several police and ambulance units rushed to a home this morning.

A baby has tragically died in hospital after being found unresponsive at a suburban home in Sydney’s outer west.

Several police and ambulance units rushed to the home on Goroka St in Whalan in the city’s outer west about 10am following a “concern for welfare” report.

NSW Police found an infant unresponsive at the house, a police spokesman said.

Paramedics took the infant to hospital, where the infant passed away.

“An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has begun,” the police said.

“However, is not being treated as suspicious.

“A report will be prepared for the coroner.”
