NSW Police charge 33-year-old man with murder following alleged fatal stabbing in Eastlakes, NSW
Police have charged a man with murder days after emergency crews were called to a footpath in a suburban street following an alleged fatal stabbing.
A 33-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in south Sydney.
Emergency services were called after a man was found with a wound to his neck on a footpath on Maloney St, Eastlakes, about 12.20pm on Monday.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man but he died at the scene.
A crime scene was established as police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, under Strike Force Brede.
Police have since identified the man who died as a 47-year-old from Maroubra.
Following inquiries, a 33-year-old man was arrested about 11.30am on Friday at Surry Hills Police Station.
He was charged with one count of murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
