NSW Governor and her husband test positive for Covid-19

The NSW Governor and her husband, who are both fully vaccinated against Covid-19, have tested positive for the virus.

NSW Governor Margaret Beazley has tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement, it was revealed she was diagnosed on Saturday.

Her husband Dennis Wilson has also contracted the virus.

“The Governor and her husband are fully vaccinated,” the statement read.

“(She) is experiencing mild flu-like symptoms and is resting at Government House.

“The Governor’s immediate program has been cancelled in line with advice from NSW Health.”

Organisations that have had interactions with the couple in recent days have also been notified.

The Governor on Friday attended the Jane McGrath High Tea at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park.

Lieutenant-Governor Tom Bathurst will fill in until she is able to resume her duties.
