On Thursday health authorities revealed a northern beaches man had tested positive to COVID-19.

The same goes for any customers who visited the Avalon Chemist Warehouse on January 3 between 1pm and 1.15pm.

The infected man had been in self-isolation prior to exhibiting symptoms and testing positive, NSW chief health officer Kerry Chant said on Thursday.

“It does highlight that we have that level of community transmission in that northern zone. This is the risk that we want to make sure we tackle very promptly,” she said.

There’s also an alert for Wentworthville’s ChemSave Day & Night Pharmacy.

Anyone there from 10.40am to 10.50am or 9.30pm to 9.40pm on January 3 should get tested and isolate until they get a negative result.

Sydney’s northern beaches “red zone” is due to come out of lockdown on Saturday.
