The NT has declared 10 Melbourne suburbs COVID-19 hot spots after a hotel quarantine worker tested positive to the deadly virus.

The Northern Territory government has declared 10 Melbourne suburbs coronavirus hot spots after a Victorian hotel quarantine worker tested positive on Wednesday.

From 3:30pm ACST, anyone arriving in the top end from Melbourne, West Melbourne, Noble Park, Keysborough, Springvale, Brighton, Brandon Park, Clayton South, Heatherton or Moorabbin must undergo a fortnight of mandatory quarantine.

Anyone who had arrived prior to 3.30pm but been in a Victorian hot spot since January 29 must get tested and isolate until they receive a result.

Kmart, Coles and Bunnings were among exposure sites flagged as “tier 1” risks after the 26-year-old Grand Hyatt hotel quarantine worker from Noble Park tested positive.

A number of golf driving ranges and hospitality venues in the city’s southeast were also listed as potential public exposures sites that had been visited by the confirmed case.
