New CCTV has revealed some of the final moments of Brisbane mum Crystal Beale’s life, as police make a fresh push to find her killer.

On the night of February 21, Ms Beale had been at a dinner with her former partner and her son at Sunnybank in Brisbane’s south.

The group stopped briefly at Annerley before Ms Beale got out of the car at Ryan Street in West End about 9.30pm.

Around 5.40am the next morning, her body was found in the Brisbane River at Yeronga.

New CCTV footage of the night shows the 49-year-old wearing a white dress and beige sandals at a restaurant in Sunnybank – the last time she was seen alive on any footage – as police try to piece together the timeline of that fatal night.

Members of the public who were in the Ryan St and Orleigh Park areas between 9.30pm on Friday February 21 and 1am the following morning, and saw Crystal or any suspicious behaviour, are also being urged to come forward.

“We’ve reviewed probably 1000 hours of CCTV on that night,” Detective Acting Inspector Rod Watts said.

“There are some other CCTV captures of her around Annerley where she got out of the vehicle, but from there, into West End … we are yet to piece together what’s actually happened.

“We’re still yet to capture or piece together the exact movements of Crystal around Ryan St, West End at that 9.30pm mark, and how or where she entered the Brisbane River,” he added.

“If the route was taken, and if she was on foot, we would have captured her on CCTV … but at this point in time, we’re yet to actually see her walking anywhere in that vicinity.”

One of Ms Beale’s shoes was located in shrubbery at Ryan St and more of her belongings down the road at Orleigh Park, where police believe she was assaulted and her body entered the river.

“The injuries that were discovered in a post-mortem examination make us believe that the death is suspicious,” Inspector Watts said.

“That’s one piece of the puzzle. We can certainly say that’s her sandal. We found other personal belongings down by the river at Orleigh Park, which would suggest she was in that area.

“It’s simply a woman going about her own business on what would seem a safe street, and that’s the piece of the puzzle that we’re yet to understand, how in fact she’s ended up in the river,” he said.

“We have a number of lines of inquiry, and we’re keeping an open mind into suspects, it’s quite baffling that we don’t know what her final movements are.”

Inspector Watts reassured those who may be have been in the area are not “in any trouble” or considered suspects.

“We know there were fishermen in the area that night, we encourage those people to come forward,” Inspector Watts said.

“Any information, be it small, my message is to contact the police.

“That tiny piece of information may make a big difference in our investigation and help us piece together Crystal’s final movements and what’s happened to her.”

Anyone with information can contact Crimestoppers at 1800 333 000.
