Melbourne servo added as coronavirus public exposure site

A service station in Melbourne’s southeast has been added to the list of exposure sites after a confirmed COVID case visited while infectious.

Victoria to begin vaccinations on Monday

A service station in Melbourne’s southeast is the latest addition to Victoria’s list of coronavirus public exposure sites.

Coles Express in Bentleigh East was listed as a “tier three” exposure site by the state’s health department on Friday.

The health department said a confirmed case of COVID-19 had visited the petrol station at intersection of East Boundary Road and 21 Ardena Court while infectious.

Anyone who attended the service station between 1pm and 1.40pm on Thursday should monitor for symptoms, get tested if they develop and isolate until they receive a result.

There are now 21 venues on Victoria’s “tier one” public exposure sites list, which requires people to get tested and isolate for 14 days, including the iconic Queen Victoria Market and Melbourne Airport terminal four.

The health department said it was continuing to test primary close contacts linked to the market exposure site.

“At that site, the department has identified 212 primary close contacts, 71 of those are staff and students at St Aloysius Primary, Ballarat – all of who have tested negative,” the department said in a statement.

“These contacts are due for their Day 11 testing on Monday.”

The health department said everyone linked to the exposure sites at two kindergartens in Glenroy has also all tested negative.

It comes as Victoria again recorded no new locally acquired coronavirus cases on Sunday.

There are 25 active cases in Victoria, made up of 19 locally acquired cases and six in hotel quarantine.
