Margot Robbie reveals backstory behind iconic Barbie foot shot
Real life Barbie Margot Robbie has revealed the backstory behind an iconic shot from the upcoming movie that got fans talking.
Margot Robbie has revealed some behind-the-scenes information about the shot from the upcoming Barbie movie that had fans talking.
Featured in the trailer for the new film, Margot Robbie is pictured stepping out of her high heels to reveal that Barbie’s feet stay arched, just like the toy.
The picture-perfect shot hyped up fans who are ready to watch the iconic doll come to life on a movie screen, with Ms Robbie revealing that there was little that went into getting it right.
“There’s no special effects, you’d be amazed how few [special effects] there are in this film actually,” she said on The Project.
“We didn‘t do that many takes of it, a couple of takes and I kind of held on to a bar so I was sturdy when I stepped.
“We just put double-sided tape on the floor so that my shoes stayed still and I did have a pedicure that morning.”
The movie’s director Greta Gerwig revealed that there were discussions about using CGI feet in the movie.
“I thought ‘Oh, god, terrifying, a nightmare’,” she said.
“The feet felt like a bit of a bat signal in a way,” she said.
Ms Robbie revealed that fans have already begun to know her as Barbie, sharing a sweet story with the panel.
“Today when we were at [Bondi] Icebergs, we were walking down to get a photo and I heard a dad say to her little girl, ‘That’s Barbie’ and she gasped,” she said.
