A man has been found with a gunshot wound inside a car wreck in a Melbourne suburb, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.
A man has been found with a gunshot wound inside a car wreck in a Melbourne suburb, in what police suspect was a targeted incident.
Emergency crews were called to the corner of Donald Cameron Drive and Bridgewater Rd in Roxburgh Park at about 7pm on Sunday, after reports a car had careened through a park fence and crashed into a tree.
The driver of the white Toyota was injured in the crash and found with a gunshot wound to his lower body.
The man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The circumstances leading to the man’s gunshot wound and crash are still to be established, with Armed Crime Squad detectives investigating.
Police do believe it was a targeted incident.
A crime scene has been established at the site of the crash and investigations remain ongoing.
