A man has died just days after the ute he was travelling in plunged into a dam on a private property on the Sunshine Coast.

A man has died just days after he was placed on life support after the ute he was travelling in became submerged in a dam on the Sunshine Coast.

The 30-year-old was one of three passengers in the vehicle when it entered a “deep body of water”, which police confirmed was a dam, at Lifestyle Supports on Monday afternoon.

The driver and a 19-year-old man in the front passenger seat got out of the vehicle before it submerged, police said.

The 30-year-old was extracted through a rear window and placed on life support at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The accident occurred at a property at Diddillibah, about 6km west of Maroochydore.

The deceased was 29 year old when the accident occurred but turned 30 in the days that followed.

“He was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition and remained on life support until he died early this morning”, police said in a statement.

The accident remains under investigation.
