Major development after remains of Johnny Birch found buried on Sydney property
Police have made a major announcement following the suspicious death of a man whose remains were found partially buried on a property.
A second person has been charged in connection to the alleged murder of a man whose remains were found in a shallow grave in Sydney’s northwest.
The partially buried body of Johnny Birch, 39, was found by police at a paddock on Gleness Place in Glenorie about noon on March 14.
Authorities were investigating reports of a missing man when they discovered the remains covered in items a few hundred metres from a home on the rural property.
Mr Birch’s death was being treated as suspicious by the homicide squad, who arrested three people nearby a short time later, including two men, aged 24 and 34, and a 35-year-old woman.
They were released pending further investigation.
However, NSW Police have since confirmed two people have been charged in connection to the man’s suspicious death.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on March 23 at a home in Meridan Ave, Glenorie and charged with murder.
About 7.30am on Thursday, police arrested a 35-year-old woman at a property on Gleness Place. She was charged with accessory after the fact of murder and larceny – accessory before the fact to an offence.
She was refused bail and is set to appear before Parramatta Local Court on May 29.
