Marc Leishman will join fellow Australians Jason Day, Cameron Smith, Min Woo Lee, Adam Scott and Cam Davis in next week’s US Open after qualifying through a playoff.

LIV star Leishman posted rounds of 70 and 69 in final qualifying at Woodmont Country Club’s North Course to finish in a tie for third with Sebastian Munoz and Bryan Lee.

With four qualifying spots available, a three-for-two playoff was needed.

Leishman’s tee shot at the par-three sixth hole finished 2m away from the hole, with two putts enough to seal qualification for next week’s major at Oakmont Country Club.

American Lee also qualified, with Colombian Munoz missing out after failing to sink a par putt.

Leishman’s countrymen Lucas Herbert and Karl Vilips were also in the qualifying event at Woodmont, but both failed to advance.

Others who failed to qualify across various courses on Tuesday morning (AEST) were Max Homa, Rickie Fowler and Peter Uihlein.
