“Freedom day” promotions featuring former premier Gladys Berejiklian are running on a popular Sydney radio station, despite Dominic Perrottet having taken over the state’s top job.

At least two KIIS FM station promotions featuring Ms Berejiklian are running, after Breakfast host Kyle Sandilands last week committed to banning Dominic Perrottet from the show.

As part of a segment promoting new music, the radio station used Ms Berejiklian’s quotes, including “all these decisions based on best health advice”, and “I’m more than happy”.

One segment also included Sandilands’ “Get Vaxxed Baby” jingle.

An ARN spokesperson said the reason Ms Berejkilian’s quotes were used was because they were something most Sydneysiders would associate with being in lockdown, having heard the line almost daily, and the overall segment was a celebration of moving to the reopening.

KIISFM breakfast radio co-host Kyle Sandilands last week said he did not want NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet on his show.

It comes after Sandilands sensationally banned Mr Perrottet from appearing on his show last week, a day after the new leader was sworn in.

While discussing the new Premier with co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and a celebrity psychic, Sandilands announced he didn’t like Mr Perrottet’s “vibe”.

“Oh this guy’s gotta go, he’s never allowed on the show guys, just so you know,” he told listeners.

“He’s not allowed, I don’t want that rubbish.”

Millions of Sydneysiders and NSW residents were freed from lockdown on Monday, after the state passed the 70 per cent fully vaccinated milestone.

Pubs and restaurants have been able to welcome back patrons, while beauty salons and hairdressers have had clients book in for the first time in over 100 days.

The state recorded 360 new Covid-19 cases and five deaths on Tuesday.
