Police have launched an investigation after a body was found in a unit block. A crime scene has been established.

Police have launched an investigation after a body was found in a unit block.

Officers were called to a western Sydney unit block in Cabramatta about 9.45pm Tuesday following a report of concern for welfare.

The body of a man, who is yet to be formally identified, was found upon arrival at the St Johns Road unit block.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

NSW Fire and Rescue crews, including HAZMAT, also attended the scene.

Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
