A suspect is on the run after a man was hospitalised following a shooting, with police investigating if a vehicle fire is related to the incident.

A man has been shot in a suburban street in Adelaide’s north.

Police were called to Bolivar Rd in Burton about 3.50am on Thursday following reports a man had been shot.

A 34-year-old Burton man suffered a wound to his leg.

The man has been taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

About 10 minutes after the shooting, police and the metropolitan fire service were called following reports of a vehicle fire on Burton Rd.

Police are investigating whether the fire is related to the shooting.

The suspect has not yet been found.

The incident was not random, police said.
