Inverell dad’s chilling Facebook posts before tragic murder-suicide
A man who stabbed his wife to death and critically injured his daughter before taking his own life shared disturbing posts online before the tragedy.
A father left a series of chilling posts on Facebook before fatally stabbing his wife and injuring his daughter before taking his own life, in a crime that has rocked a small regional community.
Neville Michell critically stabbed his wife Michelle Michell, 50, at a home on Glen Innes Rd at Inverell in northern NSW just after 2am on Wednesday.
He then stabbed their 21-year-old daughter Jennifer who was rushed to hospital with critical injuries.
Authorities then launched a manhunt for Mr Michell, whose body was found five hours later at a property on Kings Plain Rd on the outskirts of town.
He had taken his own life.
NSW Police confirmed they were not looking for anyone else in relation to the tragic incident.
Just a day before the attack, Mr Michell posted an image to Facebook which read: “They have pushed me to my limits can’t take anymore love yous.”
He then changed his relationship status to ‘widowed’.
Shocked locals have posted on social media, sending their well wishes to the family.
“My condolences to the woman’s family, hope you are getting support during this time,” one person wrote.
Another described the situation as “scary”.
Early reports suggests others may have been home at the time of the attack, including a child.
Anyone with information is urged to contact local police.
