Horrifying alleged attack after traffic crash outside Dreamworld
A frightening alleged attack has unfolded at the entrance of one of the country’s busiest theme parks following a traffic accident.
Police have rushed to the scene of a suspected road rage incident that spilt out into the Dreamworld theme park on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Officers were called to the entrance of the park at Coomera after reports of an assault following a traffic crash shortly after 3pm on Monday.
Police allege an altercation broke out after the crash where the occupants from one of the vehicles chased the occupants from the other vehicle into the park.
A male from one of the vehicles was allegedly assaulted by a person from the other vehicle.
Following the alleged assault, the man returned to his vehicle and fled the scene, police said.
The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Footage from the park on Monday showed a black Holden Commodore which appeared to have collided with a brick wall.
In a statement to the ABC, Dreamworld said none of its guests were involved in the alleged assault.
“As this is not an incident involving our guests, we will not be providing further details at this time,” the statement said.
Officers are appealing for anyone with dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage to come forward.
