Ex-bikie Toby Mitchell has rejected media attention around his awkward encounter sitting next to Rebecca and Chris Judd at the Australian Open.

The model and travel presenter was seated alongside her retired AFL player husband, both 40, at the tennis event in Melbourne on Sunday.

But it was a photo posted by the former Mongols boss that gained attention for it’s ‘awkwardness’ depicting the weird tension between the Melbourne power couple and their courtside companion.

In the photo, Chris Judd can been smiling for the camera while seated next to Mr Mitchell, who shared the snap with his more than 300,000 Instagram followers.

But Bec Judd didn’t seem to have much interest in the smiling for the photo, instead she was snapped looking at her phone.

The photo sparked a lot of media attention after it was shared by Mr Mitchell, who now works as an influencer.

But the 50-year-old defended the picture on Tuesday, claiming there was nothing awkward about the encounter.

“Just to let everybody know there was nothing uncomfortable, just four people enjoying the tennis,” he wrote on Instagram Stories.

Mr Mitchell also created a poll for his followers to vote whether the media coverage was warranted, with 79 per cent voting agreeing “no story”.

He told the remaining 21 per cent of voters who said it was worth the media attention to “get a life”.

“There is no story, it’s just a slow news day,” Mitchell posted.

“There are the best tennis players in the world here, that’s what should be written about.”

The Judds had been gifted the courtside at Melbourne Park as guests of champagne brand Piper-Heidsieck.

“Thank you @piper_heidsieck for a terrific night at the @australianopen tennis,“ Bec later wrote on Instagram.

“The on-court seats were such a treat.”

It’s understood Mr Mitchell purchased the coveted seats, which are available to members of the public to purchases with prices starting at $8000.

The former Victorian president of the Mongols was ousted from club in April 2022.

He now shares his luxurious lifestyle with his Instagram followers, having recently attended a 50 Cent concert and sharing his love of tennis.
