Cops arrest man at Breakfast Point unit, seizing cash, a pistol and substances alleged to be drugs
Police say a man was hiding in the bathroom when they raided a Sydney home seizing drugs, $100,000 in cash, a pistol and a bulletproof vest.
Officers have swooped on a property in Sydney’s inner west before seizing a pistol, more than $100,000 cash, ammunition, drugs and a bulletproof vest.
Detectives raided the home at Breakfast Point on Tuesday morning where they found what is alleged to be almost 300 grams of MDMA, 22 grams of a substance alleged to be cocaine and an unidentified liquid.
Police will allege the drugs have an estimated street value of $50,000.
All items will undergo forensic examination.
A 45-year-old man was found in the bathroom of the unit before he was taken to Burwood Police Station and charged with nine offences including supplying prohibited drugs, knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime, possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, possessing ammunition without a permit, attempting to prescribe a restricted substance and possessing or using a prohibited weapon without permit.
He was refused bail and will appear at Burwood Local Court on Wednesday.
