Former US President Barack Obama has shared an adorable photo with his wife at a popular Aussie winery for their anniversary.
Former US President Barack Obama has celebrated his wedding anniversary with wife Michelle, sharing an adorable photo of the happy couple at a popular Aussie winery.
The couple each posted touching tributes to one another on social media on Tuesday, to mark their 31st anniversary together.
“Happy anniversary, sweetheart,” the former president said.
“Michelle Obama, you’re brilliant, kind, funny, and beautiful – and I’m lucky to call you mine.”
But it was the photo he chose for the sentimental post that’s got Aussies excited, after the US Embassy of Australia reshared the post.

Many social media users mused the photo was taken in Darwin or Byron but one person said it was “too easy” and correctly guessed the happy snap was from Pt Leo Estate on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.
The Obamas had visited the popular estate in April while the 44th President of the United States was in Australia on a speaking tour.
The famous couple enjoyed a lunch at the luxurious estate before they were given a tour around the sculpture park by Pt Leo Estate’s project administrator, Dermot Molly.
It was during this tour of the sculpture park the photo Mr Obama used for his heartwarming anniversary post was snapped.
The 2008 bronze sculpture, titled ‘Luke’, can be seen in the background of the photo.
The sculpture was created by Sir Anthony Cragg, CBE, a British-born sculptor who is based in Wuppertal, Germany.
Another social media user said they’d recognised the sculpture because they were “there on the weekend”.
Meanwhile, Mrs Obama also shared her love for her husband by posting about their anniversary.
“31 years, and a lifetime to go,” she wrote.
“I love going through life with you by my side, @BarackObama. Happy anniversary, honey.”
