In 2014 he was seconded on a year-long exchange to The Wall Street Journal. His non-fiction book The Squad was longlisted for the Walkley Book Award. He was previously The Australian’s NSW political correspondent.

Former Queensland Supreme Court judge Martin Daubney was installed last night as the ACU Chancellor at the St Stephen’s Cathedral. The Chancellor holds an important governance role, presiding over the university’s Senate. Mr Daubney is ACU’s fifth Chancellor, following the late John Fahey and before him, Sir Peter Cosgrove.
