Richard Ferguson is The Australian’s Canberra Bureau Chief based in Parliament House. Before leading the masthead’s political team, Ferguson was National Chief of Staff in Sydney. He has co-ordinated The Australian’s news coverage on a range of major events, including Anthony Albanese’s 2025 Labor landslide and Donald Trump’s return to the White House in 2024. Ferguson has also been a politics reporter, Melbourne reporter, property reporter and culture columnist for the masthead.
