Sarah Snook shines at the premiere of Succession’s third season
The notorious fictional family reunited for the first time since the pandemic hit on the red carpet for the premiere of the hit television show, Succession.
The stars of the Succession have arrived at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City for the premiere of season three of the mega-hit American TV series.
Sarah Snook, the sole Australian to star in the seven-time Emmy award-winning show, was reunited with fellow cast members Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfadyen and Alan Ruck on the red carpet for the first time since the pandemic began.
The Adelaide-born actor was glamour-personified in a figure-hugging black dress and sleek hairstyle.
Other celebrities in attendance included Ben Stiller and Fran Lebowitz, while Adam Shulman and Talia Balsam joined the star-studded guest list.
The nine-part series of the savagely funny melodrama in which members of the Roy family stab each other in the back in their attempts to wrest power from the ageing media-mogul patriarch (Cox), is set to cover the climatic face-off between Logan (Cox) and Kendall (Strong).
“There’s blood in the water. Sharks are coming,” Logan Roy says in the season’s trailer.
The official synopsis of the HBO show said Logan starts the new season in a “perilous position”.
“Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall at the end of Season 2, Logan Roy begins Season 3 in a perilous position. Scrambling to secure familial, political and financial alliances, tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war.”
Missing from the red carpet was Big Little Lies star Alexander Skarsgård who appears in the new season as tech company founder and CEO Lukas Matsson. Adrien Brody (The Pianist) joins Skarsgård as another new cast member, playing billionaire activist investor Josh Aaronson. Sanaa Lathan also appears as Lisa Arthur, a lawyer working with Kendall.
Steven Spielberg, Hillary Clinton and Paul McCartney are known devotees of the show, with Snook’s character, the sardonic media heiress Shiv (short for Siobhan), emerging as the fan favourite.
After some Covid-related production delays, the new season will begin on Monday, October 18 in Australia. New episodes will be available to stream on Binge and will also be shown on Foxtel.
Succession season 3 starts on Foxtel on Monday, Oct 18.
