Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan to return for Neighbours farewell
Two of Australia’s biggest soap stars are set to return to one of Melbourne’s most famous streets, as Neighbours’ fans prepare to bid farewell.
Two of Australia’s biggest soap stars are set to return to one of Melbourne’s most famous streets for one last time, as Neighbours’ fans prepare to bid farewell to their beloved Ramsay St after almost 40 years.
The iconic soap opera – which was axed by Fremantle Media in March after it failed to find a new broadcast partner – announced on Sunday Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue and actor Jason Donovan are poised to make their return to Ramsay St for its last episode in August.
The former on-screen and off-screen lovers have reportedly already filmed scenes as their famous characters, Charlene Mitchell and Scott Robinson, and are expected to receive a fairytale ending, more than three decades after their TV wedding in 1987.
“Scott and Charlene are the ultimate Neighbours couple and it would not feel right to end the show without them,” the show announced on social media. “We are thrilled that Jason and Kylie have come home to play a very special part in our series finale.”

Minogue, who moved back to Australia earlier this year after living in London, confirmed the report with an Instagram photo she published on Sunday, while Donovan uploaded the same photo to his Instagram account.
Minogue departed Neighbours for London a year after her on-screen marriage and went on to achieve global stardom.
After Fremantle Media announced the end of the show, Minogue attributed her later success to Neighbours.
“I’ll be forever grateful for the experience and the friends I made on Neighbours,” she wrote on Twitter.
Donovan quit soon after and won acclaim for his song Too Many Broken Hearts; he later enjoyed success on the stage.
