Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival acquired by Live Nation
Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival have been acquired by the LA-based multinational entertainment group.
Two of Australia’s biggest annual rock events, Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival, have been acquired by multinational entertainment group Live Nation.
The Los Angeles-based group announced today that it has bought a 51 per cent stake in Australian company Secret Sounds Group, which runs Splendour in Byron Bay and Falls in Tasmania, Victoria and at the same Byron site.
Secret Sounds co-founders Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco said the move, which does not impact on Secret Sounds publishing and record label interests, would help improve both festivals.
“We started Secret Sounds with the sole mission of introducing Australians to the best artists, events and music possible, and Live Nation is the perfect partner to help us take this goal to the next level, they said in a statement.
“With their support we can continue to curate the lineups that fans love, while also experimenting with new exciting ways for fans to experience live music.”
Live Nation, which has an Australian arm in Melbourne, owns rock festivals all over the world, including Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo and Reading.
