She’s made a career out of portraying powerful women and now Nicole Kidman has taken that to another level, revealing she is the biggest gun in Hollywood.
The 55-year-old Australian actor was unveiled as the new cover star for The Perfect Magazine, a print media and digital creative platform founded by British stylist and editor Katie Grand, where she bares her toned physique in the magazine’s third issue.
The Oscar-winner’s razor-sharp abs, bulging biceps and chiselled thighs against her auburn hair, micro mini skirt and a halter-neck top designed by Diesel is a far cry from the curly-headed teenager who starred in the 1983 film BMX Bandits, but yet another look the fashion chameleon has successfully served.
According to the conceptual magazine, whose latest issue’s theme is dubbed #PerfectCelebration, Kidman was crowned “the Perfect icon” for being an outstanding figure in fashion, TV, music, art, politics and design.
The magazine cover reveal saw her join the ranks of fellow female superhero Natalie Portman, who stunned fans with her mighty transformation in Thor: Love and Thunder, as Kidman reprises her role as Atlanna in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, due out in March.
Jonah Waterhouse, Vogue Australia’s assistant fashion features and news editor, said Kidman’s fearlessness with fashion made her even more admirable.
“Few A-list stars make the decision to appear on fashion runways, but that’s what Kidman did when she made a surprise appearance on Balenciaga’s autumn/winter 2022-23 haute couture show in July, clad in a metallic silver gown by the experimental brand known for pushing the envelope with fashion,” he said.
This is not the first time Kidman has taken a risk on fashion.
Earlier this year, her cover shoot for Vanity Fair’s 2022 Hollywood Issue saw her wear Italian brand Miu Miu’s cult-favourite cropped set, which Waterhouse said “further cemented her as a fashion experimenter”.
He said her risk-taking combined with years of excellent red-carpet style “provides a compelling case for why titles like ‘icon’ are apt”.
