Emmy nominees 2025: the complete list

Ben Stiller’s chilly workplace drama Severance leads with 27 nominations, while Netflix’s breakout hit Adolescence scores 13, including a historic supporting actor nod for 15-year-old Owen Cooper.

Adam Scott (Severance), Owen Cooper (Adolescence), Noah Wyle (The Pitt) and Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer) are among the standout Emmy nominees for 2025.

Severance, Ben Stiller’s frosty workplace dystopian drama for Apple TV+, leads this year’s Emmy nominations with 27 nods for its second season.

It will compete in the drama category against a strong and varied field: Andor, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, Slow Horses, The White Lotus, Paradise, and breakout medical drama The Pitt, which picked up 13 nominations along the way.

In comedy, The Studio, Seth Rogen’s slick and knowing Hollywood satire, has broken Ted Lasso’s record for most nominations by a first-season comedy, with 23 nods.

In the drama actor category, Severance’s Adam Scott leads the nominations, alongside Paradise’s Sterling K. Brown, Slow Horses’ Gary Oldman, The Last of Us’s Pedro Pascal, and Noah Wyle — the ER alum who returned to the genre with The Pitt and has earned his first Emmy nod in 28 years.

Britt Lower is the frontrunner in the drama actress category for Severance, facing competition from The Diplomat’s Keri Russell, The Last of Us’s Bella Ramsey, Bad Sisters’ Sharon Horgan, and Matlock’s Kathy Bates — who, at 77, becomes the oldest nominee ever in this field.

Meanwhile, Adolescence star Owen Cooper has made Emmys history as the youngest nominee in the limited series supporting actor category. The 15-year-old, who plays a schoolboy implicated in a classmate’s murder, is part of the cast behind Netflix’s second most-watched English-language series of all time.

He’ll compete against co-star Ashley Walters, Javier Bardem (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), Bill Camp and Peter Sarsgaard (Presumed Innocent), and Rob Delaney (Dying for Sex).

Adolescence earned 13 nominations in total and is considered the frontrunner for best limited series — though it faces stiff competition from HBO’s The Penguin, a Batman spin-off that secured 24 nominations, as well as Black Mirror, Dying for Sex, and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

Cate Blanchett is the only Australian nominated in the six top acting categories, recognised for her role in Disclaimer, Alfonso Cuarón’s elegant Apple TV+ drama. She is joined in the category by Meghann Fahy (Sirens), Rashida Jones (Black Mirror), Michelle Williams (Dying for Sex), and Cristin Milioti (The Penguin).

But she isn’t the only Australian presence. Cinematographers Tony Gardiner and Heath Herr have earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in the outstanding technical direction, camerawork and video category — for their work on Neighbours.

This year’s Emmy Awards will take place on 14 September.
