Coldplay will return to Australia for a series of concerts in October and November 2024.

The tour announcement follows the band’s two sellout shows at Perth Optus Stadium over the weekend, a Western Australian exclusive that saw 40,000 fans fly in from interstate, injecting millions of tourism dollars into the economy.

It was the first time the British rock quartet had performed in the state since 2009. A record-breaking attendance of 140,000 was anticipated for the two shows, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s previous record of 120,000 at the Perth stadium.

Coldplay will bring their Music of the Spheres tour to Melbourne and Sydney in October and November next year, marking their first shows in the states since 2016.

The band will perform two back-to-back dates at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 30 and 31, followed by two shows in Sydney at Accor Stadium on November 6 and 7.

They will also play one show in Auckland, New Zealand, at Eden Park on November 13.

Joining Coldplay on their 2024 tour as opening acts will be UK producer and pop star PinkPantheress, along with Australian singer Emmanuel Kelly.

Fans can register for a ticket presale — which begins at 10am local time on Wednesday, November 29 — at the band’s website. The general sale will open on Friday, December 1, at 10am local time.

The band will release a limited number of Infinity Tickets at a later date. The tickets, which are priced at $32 and restricted to two tickets per purchaser, are the band’s way of making the tour “accessible for fans at an affordable price.”
