Germaine Greer’s hands-on approach to lovers

Germaine Greer once helped spice up a young couple’s sex life by giving them hands-on demonstrations of how to satisfy each other, a new biography has claimed.
The feminist author and academic, who turns 80 in January, is reported to have taught the woman how to please her partner in bed, before showing him how to return the favour.
However, both ended up falling in love with Greer.
The claim is made in a biography by Elizabeth Kleinhenz, an Australian teacher and writer, who cites a 1971 article by Jill Johnston, a cultural critic and the author of Lesbian Nation.
“Germaine … once ‘fixed up’ a young couple who were unable to please each other sexually,” Kleinhenz wrote.
“The female ‘fell for’ Germaine, who was able to teach her what she needed to know to satisfy her boyfriend. Germaine then did the same for the bloke. He too fell in love with her, but eventually they got it all sorted out.”
Johnston, who died in 2010, claimed Greer revealed this to her over a nightcap when the pair were staying in the same hotel.
Johnston said Greer “rapped” on her door twice later that night but she declined the implied invitation.
Germaine: The Life of Germaine Greer, which was published last week, is only the second biography of the famous feminist.
Kleinhenz also documents Greer’s affairs with a bevy of men, including novelist Martin Amis, actor Warren Beatty and DJ John Peel, who in 2000 claimed he had been seduced by Greer more than 30 years earlier.
Greer responded by saying she had no memory of their affair — though she did recall her subsequent trip to the “clap clinic”.
