Dally M awards 2024 as it happened: Jahrome Hughes and Olivia Kernick named 2024 Dally M Medal winners

Your 2024 Dally M Medallist are Jahrome Hughes from the Melbourne Storm and Olivia Kernick from the Sydney Roosters.

Other notable wins throughout the night was Nicho Hynes and Kimberley Hunt taking out the Ken Stephen Medal and the Veronic White Medal for their work in the community, while Scott Prince and Craig Bellamy were named the NRLW and NRL coach of the year.

The award for the 2024 captain’s of the year was given to Stephen Crichton at the Bulldogs after the club’s stunning transformation this season and Tiana Penitani from the Sharks, while Jack Bostock from the Dolphins and Kasey Reh from the Dragons were awarded the 2024 rookies of the year.

Jahrome Hughes has won the 2024 Dally M medal.

It came down to the wire after Hughes was rested in round 26 of the season, and Roosters skipper James Tedesco scored six points in the final round.

But a hat trick for Jahrome Hughes, four line breaks and two try assist saw him soar to the top of leaderboard after also scoring six points in round 27.

“It’s quite surreal to be honest,” Hughes said on stage.

“I didn’t think I would ever get the opportunity to win this award, and I’ve sort of got butterflies at the moment. I’m so honoured to be bale to win it, and I’m kind of speechless.”

Kernick named 2024 NRLW Dally M medal winner

Roosters second rower Olivia Kernick is the 2024 NRLW Dally M player of the year.

“I definitely didn’t expect that this year,” Kernick said on stage.

“Sort of caught off guard but I think this year the women’s NRL has really proven, and we’ve really produced a really good product this year, and I think we’ve taken the competition to another level.”

Bostock and Reh name rookies of the year

Our NRLW rookie of the year is Kasey Reh from the Dragons.

“I think I’m just proud to be in the position I am today, I am very honoured to receive this award, but I think I owe this to the girls I play alongside and the coaching staff,” Reh says.
