Malcolm Turnbull's task of retaining government at the next federal election got tougher on Wednesday with electoral boundary changes in Victoria positioning Labor to pick up another three seats in Parliament.
The Australian Electoral Commission has created a seat in Labor heartland, which looks set to be snapped-up by leader Bill Shorten, and boundary changes to two marginal Liberal electorates have made them even harder to defend.
The creation of the Division of Fraser in Melbourne's north-west increases the likelihood that Mr Shorten will switch to the new seat, notionally safe ALP territory, from his current neighbouring seat of Maribyrnong, which is tipped to turn marginal in the coming years.

Gee asks about measures to support farmers in financial hardship during drought.
Littleproud says the government is providing farm household assistance because it is important for rural families.
He says the government has boosted funding for counselling services.

She asks if the PM is "proud that he is the first Prime Minister in Australian history to unite the government, Catholic and independent schools against his policies"?

Frydenberg says schools will be better off under the government's school funding model.
He says this is true of schools in the electorates of Sydney, Braddon, Longman and Mayo.
"The Turnbull government is increasing funding for school students across the country and across all sectors," he says.

Morton asks about the government's tax plans.
Ciobo says the Coalition wants people to keep more of what they earn and Labor is mounting a "war on ambition".

Shorten asks why Turnbull is telling people to get better jobs rather than backing Labor's income tax policy.
Turnbull says Shorten is again misleading the House about what he said. He says Labor no longer understands aspiration.

Howarth asks about a strong economy enabling investment in healthcare.
Hunt rattles off some health initiatives the government is funding and say it is only possible because of economic management.

Collins asks why the "snobbish" Prime Minister is telling people to get a better job instead of backing Labor's income tax policies.
Speaker Tony Smith then intervenes to say he is uncomfortable with Labor's questions that are including insults about the Prime Minister. He says it demands the House and he's not happy with the direction.
He says is monitoring where this practice goes but says the PM can answer on this occasion.
Turnbull says retirees would be punished by Labor's proposed dividend imputation changes.
Question from Queensland Liberal Ross Vasta to Environment and Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg.
Vasta asks about policies to reduce power prices.
Frydenberg says retail prices are coming down and this contrasts with what happened under Labor.
He says the opposition is promising "reckless" energy policies that would drive prices up.
Question from Labor MP Terri Butler to Malcolm Turnbull.
Butler asks about fairness in the government's income tax proposals.
Scott Morrison takes the question and says wealthy Australians will still do the heavy lifting under the government's changes.
He then says Labor lacks consistency.
