Tributes for Angie Suryadi, who died when tree crushed car
A mother killed when a tree crushed the family car in the Yarra Ranges on Friday morning has been remembered as a "beautiful soul".
Angie Suryadi, 41, was in the car with her husband, Arnold Aditiasvara, also 41, and their sons Oliver, four, and Jonathan, five.
The Endeavour Hills family was driving along the Black Spur when wild winds caused a large gum tree to fall across the car on the Maroondah Highway at Fernshaw.
Ms Suryadi died at the scene.
Oliver on Saturday afternoon was still fighting for his life at The Royal Children's Hospital, while his brother was discharged into the care of family members.
Mr Aditiasvara remains in The Alfred hospital in a stable condition.
Ms Suryadi was described on Facebook as a "a beautiful soul, full of love and faith" by the Australia for Christ Church Indonesia.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved sister Angie Suryadi," the post reads.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Arnold Aditiasvara’s family.
"A beautiful soul, full of love and faith, ascended to heaven, away from us, but closer to God, leaving loneliness and sadness.
"We lost a great friend, Angie was a great woman and she will be truly missed and will always be remembered. She was loved by all of us and she will be cherished in our memories forever.
"No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. But take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of our Lord."
The family had moved to Melbourne about four years ago, friends told Nine News after a service at the family's church on Saturday.
They had been on a snow trip to celebrate Mr Aditisvara's birthday when tragedy struck.
Friend Lifo Wijaya said Ms Suryadi had been "dedicated to her family."
"When we heard the news it was a big shock," Ms Wijaya said.
She had visited Mr Aditiasvara in hospital and said he recovering from surgery but was a "broken-hearted man."
