I can't put this off any longer. These are my very last words for The Age and Fairfax. I'm off to make another job for myself. It is time.
I started at The Age as a clerk when I was 17, it was all I wanted. I journeyed around the company and returned back 15 years ago.
It is fair to say I am proud of many of my achievements, but Melbourne Express is among my career highlights. It is fast and fun and it has pioneered a new way of covering the news. The Age will continue to find new ways to bring you the news. It is what it does best.
I have loved hearing from you, dear reader. Express will continue with my colleagues Craig Butt and a legion of other reporters.
When I am ready for my next project, I will announce it through Twitter, so follow if you want to know what @DebGough does next.
