A Ferrari-driving kickboxer jailed for causing the death of an elderly woman in a high-speed crash had his parole revoked because of a series of attempts on his life.
Suleiman "Sam" Abdulrahim is fighting the decision by Victoria's adult parole board to revoke his bail in June, just months after his early release.
Lawyers for the board on Thursday told the Supreme Court that Abdulrahim had been the intended target of two shootings and another firearm incident earlier this year.
In March, his neighbour's house was shot up, according to the board.
They also say Abdulrahim's sister was threatened with a gun in May and his cousins' house was shot at a month later.
No one was injured in the incidents.
Barrister Liam Brown told the court Abdulrahim had been the intended target each time and his being out on parole posed a risk to the community.
But Justice Paul Coghlan said he struggled with the decision to put Abdulrahim back behind bars, adding that most people would likely find it unfair.
"This is unusual ... there would be very few cases where the position of the [parole] board is 'we accept he hasn't done anything'," the judge said.
"We've not ordinarily imposed custodial sentences on people for their own good."
Abdulrahim was last year sentenced for causing the death of 88-year-old Muriel Hulett, while speeding through Reservoir in his silver two-door Ferrari Spider in 2015.
Abdulrahim was almost 50 kilometres above the speed limit and on the wrong side of the road when he clipped two vehicles and ploughed into a Mazda sedan near the intersection of High Street and Broadhurst Avenue in Reservoir
Ms Hulett's daughter was also seriously injured in the crash.
Known in kickboxing circles as "The Punisher", Abdulrahim had a long history of driving offences, including speeding and driving while unlicensed.
On the day of the crash, a Twitter account using the name Sam Abdulrahim, retweeted an image of the incident from a Channel 7 news reporter.
Abdulrahim has been a boxer and martial artist since age 15 and fought professionally for a number of years, but his commercial sponsors severed ties after the crash.
During his trial the court was told Abdulrahim was seen weaving between lanes shortly before the crash.
County Court judge Trevor Wraight rejected a submission by Abdulrahim's lawyer Robert Richter, QC, who claimed his client lost control of the grey Ferrari after hitting a curb.
"You were in a vehicle that was high-powered and you were driving at high speed in a built-up area," Judge Wraight said.
He was jailed last July for three years and three months, with a non-parole period of two years, after pleading guilty to a string of charges including culpable driving causing death.
But with 519 days' pre-sentence detention, Abdulrahim was released on parole in March this year.
While on parole, he was reportedly romantically linked with Married At First Sight star Jessika Power.
Abdulrahim's barrister, Jo Swiney, said her client had done nothing but assist the parole board and the decision to put him back in jail was unreasonable.
She compared the move to revoking a female prisoner's parole because she had been threatened by her ex-partner.
In February 2015, Abdulrahim made headlines when he was involved in a wild brawl on the third level of the Melbourne Magistrates Court building.
The fight erupted after a verbal altercation with another man in court. Security guards and police used capsicum spray to quell the fight. Abdulrahim was found guilty of assault and fined $2000.
While on parole Abdulrahim was reportedly romantically linked with Married At First Sight star Jessika Power.
Justice Coghlan is expected to hand down his decision on Abdulrahim's parole next Thursday.
