Darebin City Council: What your candidates said
By Cara Waters and Rachael Dexter
Darebin residents are voting for the councillors they want for the next four years.
The council has nine wards represented by one candidate each, and voters will choose among 48 candidates.
Susanne Newton is the outgoing mayor and two monitors have been appointed to scrutinise the council for eight months until December 31, 2024.
The Age sent questions to each of the 48 candidates up for election at Darebin about why they are running and what they want to accomplish if elected. Of those, 26 responded.
