Queensland woman charged with murdering eight-year-old boy

A 36-year-old woman was charged on Saturday afternoon with murdering an eight-year-old boy in Rockhampton.
Police carrying out a welfare check at 2.20am on Saturday found the boy’s unresponsive body at a Waterloo Street home in the suburb of Berserker.

A crime scene was established and the Rockhampton Child Protection and Investigation Unit launched a probe into the boy’s death.
Officers confirmed he and the woman were known to each other, but declined to state the nature of their relationship.
The woman will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday. Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.
