Following investigations, Gold Coast detectives located and arrested a 46-year-old Carrara woman at a nearby street about 10.25pm.

She was charged with murder and was due to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

Police said the woman knew Wang but wouldn’t confirm the relationship between the pair.

Inspector Lou Serafim earlier said a male relative called triple zero about 6pm on Tuesday after finding the girl.

There were unconfirmed reports Wang, a student at nearby Emmanuel College, had suffered stab wounds to her neck.

In a statement, the college said the school community was “devastated by the tragic passing of one of our students at a home within Emerald Lakes last night”.

“Our prayers are with the family, friends, first responders and all affected by the loss of this beloved child in her home,” the college said.
