Girl, 4, found dead in pool in Brisbane’s south
A four-year-old girl missing from a Forest Lake home on Monday morning has been found dead in a neighbour’s pool, sparking a police investigation.
About 9.40am on Monday police received reports the child had gone missing from a property on Deakin Street, prompting a search of the nearby area.
Three hours later the girl was found dead in a swimming pool in the neighbourhood.
Police launched a search for a missing four-year-old girl on Monday, finding the toddler in a pool hours later.
Police were preparing a coroner’s report on Tuesday, and launched an investigation in “all circumstances” that lead to the girl’s death.
It was not clear whether the pool had been appropriately fenced.
Pool fencing standards are set by the state government and maintained by councils.
