Brisbane cyclist dies after being struck by car at rural intersection

A cyclist has died after being hit by a car west of Brisbane.

The 34-year-old man from Bardon was struck by a grey Holden Captiva at the intersection of Lake Manchester Road and Kholo Road, north of Ipswich, about 7am on Saturday.

The sole occupant of the hatchback, a 19-year-old woman from Yarrabilba, was uninjured.

The Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit has launched an investigation.

Anyone who saw the collision or has relevant dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
