North Sydney Council: What your candidates said

Best known for the delay in rebuilding the North Sydney Olympic Pool, North Sydney Council has 10 councillor spots available on Saturday.

But North Sydney residents will be without the most notable of them all: Jilly Gibson, the eccentric councillor who stormed out of her final council meeting after she lost a vote to name a plaza after her.

The council is led by Zoe Baker, of the Real Independents North Sydney.

The Sydney Morning Herald sent questions to each of the 56 candidates up for election about why they are running and what they want to accomplish if they are elected. Of those, 33 responded.

Their responses have been lightly edited for clarity.

A previous version of this story reported Rebecca McDonald was a Labor candidate. She is in fact an independent. It has been updated.
