By Emma Kelly
Good morning Canberra and happy Thursday.
Don't let any patches of light frost fool you - we're in for a mostly sunny day with a top of 20 degrees. (And we all know those frosty starts make for clear skies.)

Capital Recycling Solutions to appeal decision

But Labor has quickly disparaged the new information, provided by the Department of Home Affairs to the Senate inquiry into the au pair saga.

Tensions thaw for 'mid-winter' ball
It's one of Canberra's biggest parties but most of us weren't invited.
All the glitz and glamour up on the hill overnight was thanks to the annual Mid Winter Ball - which wasn't really a "mid-winter ball" given it's September (although some days it does feel like winter...).
