Police working on a missing persons investigation have made the gruesome discovery of suspected adult human remains buried on a semi-rural property on Sydney’s north-western fringe. Three people are now in custody.
Police were called to a home at Gleness Place in Glenorie about 11.30am on Friday as part of inquiries into a missing man, and located the remains in an adjoining paddock.
The 39-year-old man, who lives in the Nepean area, was reported missing at 9pm the night before by a family member who directed police to the Gleness Place property.
It is not clear how long he had been missing.
The Hills Police Area Commander Detective Superintendent Naomi Moore said the suspected human remains were found in the paddock a few hundred metres from the home and had yet to be fully unearthed.

“It is covered by some items at the moment, which is obviously limiting us from being able to confirm that it is human remains,” she said.
Police have established two crime scenes at the home and paddock, with a large number officers on the scene, including specialist detectives from the homicide squad.

“We’ve secured the crime scenes and are now waiting for our forensic police to come out and examine those crime scenes,” Moore said.
Police have arrested two men and a woman, aged in their 20s and 30s, who live on Gleness Place and who police said have some connection to the missing person.
Officers are examining CCTV in the area and are encouraging anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
